Biography
Peter predominantly advises and appears in commercial disputes. He regularly appears in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the Federal Court of Australia at Brisbane. He has appeared in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Supreme Court of South Australia, the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and in the Federal Court of Australia at Sydney and Melbourne. He has appeared in arbitrations and expert determinations, and regularly attends mediations both as counsel and mediator. In his earlier career Peter practised criminal law (as prosecutor and defence counsel). He also practises in the common law jurisdiction.
Peter was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland in December 1983, and was subsequently admitted in South Australia in 1990, New South Wales in 1991 and Victoria in 1991. Some judgments involving cases where Peter has appeared as an advocate may be found on his Judgments Page.
Peter has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (1980), a Bachelor of Laws (1983) and a Master of Laws (1995) from the University of Queensland, and a Dispute Resolution Certificate from the Bond University.
